I can tell you this a point Pete and I do disagree on. I have tried pattern kits to find the head gasket don't seal (so has Kip one of my mates) however Pete swears by them having not experienced any problem.
I know this will only add to your confussion, I'm no mechanic but wouldn't use a pattern head gasket (would use pattern for all others though)Pete is a mechanic and uses and recomends pattern.
You pays your money takes your chance the pattern kit is excellent value.
