I too just bought another Z1300 and am beginning to strip and refurb, ready for use early 2009.
The most important mods and updates for me are as follow.
ZZR1100 Cam Chain Tensioner.
Low PSI Fuel Pump.
AW82 2.7OHM Coils.
Hydraulic Clutch.
Progressive Fork Springs.
Re-Paint Engine.
There are of course many other mods you can do to the Z1300 including better brakes, but the ones above are by far the best, and will make the bike perform and run far better, without spending a fortune.
