I was thinking that maybe the tracks could adjust their fees to help themselves make more money and also by giving a discount to the ones who race.
Simply put, currently, you get more bang for your buck by practicing. A ride spends around $30 and rides about 4 or 5 times, but on race day, a rider only gets 2 motos for $30. That doesn't really make a lot of sense to the rider's wallet.
This comment will anger some people, but I think it would make more sense to charge $40 on a practice day and $20 for each class on race day.
Now theoretically on paper if a rider did both the old way, a track is collecting $90 plus gate fee if a rider practices and races 2 classes. Using the idea mentioned above, a track would only collect $80 plus gate fee if the rider practices and races 2 classes. Now I know what you are thinking, why would a track want to lose $10 more when this economy is already weak. I would think that by making it cheaper to race, that the average rider who only does 1 class is more likely to sign up for 2 classes, therefore bringing in more revenue in the long run. This would also increase the number of race entries and also rider turnout. When the entry numbers go up, it increases the rider turnout for the next race. More racers = More fun. I still believe the the number of riders showing up for practice day would relatively stay the same.
This idea is very basic. Using simple math, this means the a rider pays about $10 for each time he is on the track. Seems fair to me, what do you guys think?
