With over 900 entries, Steel City MX ushered in the 2012 Loretta Lynn's Regional qualifying season. Here are a few photos of the riders in attendance:
Cooper Webb was, by far, the dominant rider in the B classes winning all nine of his motos on his Star/Vali Rockstar Yamaha. Webb was unchallenged in 250B Stock, 250B Mod and 450B Mod (on a 250F) leading all of the laps of every moto except one. In 450B mod he had to come from behind to make a last lap, last corner pass on Shane Hall.
Geico Honda rider Zach Bell won all six of his motos in 250A and Open Pro Sport. Bell mixed in some good starts and come from behind rides to dominate his classes!
Kael Holloway won the 250C Stock class with consistent 2-2-2 moto finishes. He backed up his overall win with a strong third overall in 250C Mod.
Rocky Cagno was the victor in 250C Mod. David Vertucci won motos one and three but a second moto sixth relegated him to second overall.
Luke Renzland was tops in the 450A class aboard his Rock River Yamaha YZ450 going 1-1-1!
Former mini star Shane Hall is finally healthy and it shows. He was first in 450B Stock and Collegeboy.
Nick Ferrell was tied in points with Cody Gragg but won the 2 stroke title by virtue of his third moto win.
Casey Clark has turned a few laps at Steel City and it showed in the +25 class. Clark went 2-1-1 for the overall victory.
#925, John Barto with the holeshot in moto two of the +30 B/C.
PA rider James Evans put it to Keith Johnson in three straight motos to win the +35 class. Johnson was a winner in the +40.
No one could catch the ageless one, Barry Karsten, in the +45 class. Karsten was first in all three motos ahead of legends Mike Jones and Gary Semics. Semics would come back to win each of the +50 motos.
Former factory pro, Scott Sheak was third in +35.
