The issue can't be that your child is out there with the 10-11 year olds, because right now (except for regionals or real BIG races) they run 7-9 and 10-11 in the same race, just staggered start. So in all reality, they would be doing the slower riders a favor by letting them go at the same time- because then it would take longer before they got lapped. The argument should be the points and level of competition for that age group and maturity level. And of course sandbagging!
