On behalf of the D6MXPG:
The issue of rider advancement is obviously very important to a great many people and among other things affects Rider Safety, Loretta’s, and D6MXPG Factory Contingencies.
As you’re probably aware by now the AMA did not assign a high priority to advancements for 2008 and it’s still unclear what may happen in 2009.
In response to this situation the D6 MX Promoters group, in cooperation with the AMA, is taking responsibility for rider advancement / demotions for the remainder of 2008 and possibly beyond.
Effective immediately the D6MXPG and its member promoters have adopted the following rider classification / advancement policies:
The D6MXPG point’s keeper, in cooperation with the executive board, will make ALL advancement / demotion decisions for the remainder of the 2008 and reserves the right to advance / demote any rider at any time.
D6MXPG promoters will abide by the published D6MXPG advancement list, not the AMA advancement list which agreeably may be in error. An exception to this rule will be made if the rider presents an original letter from the AMA stating otherwise at sign up. No letter at sign up, no exception.
Rider classification cards issued by other districts will be honored. But be forewarned the same rules apply to you and we will not tolerate riding “out of class” or “district hopping” practices. D6MXPG Series Contingencies are for the benefit of D6MXPG card holders and we intend to protect them to the best of our ability.
If we determine that you are riding “out of your class” or trying to cheat the system in any way you will be disqualified for the day and the D6MXPG will report you to the AMA and request suspension of your AMA card for a period of 1 year.
In general the basis for our rider advancements shall be RPV of 11.5 for C to B, RPV of 15 for B to A, but we will not make youth class advancement decisions. However there may be other factors that come into play in determining a rider’s final classification. Again we remind you that the D6MXPG will make all decisions respective of classification.
The promoters are not expected to police the situation themselves as this would be an impossible task. It is the responsibility of you, the riders, to patrol your own ranks and report violations directly to the promoters. Upon doing so promoter will check the D6MXPG advancement list and classify you for the day.
If you disagree with the rider classification you are assigned by the D6MXPG you have the right to appeal our decision directly to the AMA and we in turn will honor their decision on the matter so long as it is in writing.
