If I had read the Notes for 'The Return' I would probably not have watched the film. They made me quite angry. Were they about the same film? it was riveting and fascinating, but deeply cruel. Hard to watch such alienation and suffering. Was that connected to religion? Maybe that's what all the wars are about ...
