I'd like to think I'm not alone, but please could you make the film notes more transparent and easy to understand? I'm educated and a senior marketing manager writing literature for one of the largest organisations in the UK, but for the most part I can rarely make any sense of the film notes. Certainly not prior to the film - I've given up reading them for any sort of insight - but I do read them on my return home hoping for a glimpse of isomething I can relate to after the film. I appreciate that writing the film notes is a pretty thankless task and I also appreciate that the film society by its very nature will to a degree be 'high brow' and 'arty' but please could the narrative be written in plainer english and add some value to those of us who perhaps don't fit the profile of the audience you aspire to. If it helps notes from a year or two were excellent - I remember for the film 'Down with Love', the notes gave some background, and pointers for what to look out for during the film. These sorts of insights provided some clarity in judging whether a film had achieved its objectives.
