Hi, Do you remember Mr Pope who taught at cranbrook Primary? His brother owned the soft drinks factory at Staplehurst. Miss England was my first teacher at primary school, got married to a farmer down Swattenden lane. Mrs Carpenter's husband was caretaker at the school.
You must have been hop picking at the same time as our family. One thing I do remember is the little van that used to come out to the field carrying sweets and drinks. I pruned the apple trees for a number of years on Wilson's farm. Things and people have have moved on, I am in Cumbria now and rarely get down to Cranbrook,must make the effort.
