I was recalling memories of the Cranbrook Pram Race with my father and a friend recently, but can find no trace of it on the web. We were trying to recall the rules, the pubs visited and find any photos. I reckon it stopped in the late 70's or early 80's (?) as the number of pubs in the town started to decline. It was sad to see on a recent visit how many of my old haunts and points of reference have disappeared over time.
I remember the rules as:
At each pub, a half for the pusher and a pint for the 'baby', the pair swapping roles halfway round.
Pram had to be pushed (pusher could not jump aboard going downhill)
All else was fair game....!!
Pubs - 13?(in no particular order)
The One at Harltey Pound.....(good start!)
The Windmill
The George
The White Horse
The Crown
The Prince of Wales?
The one at Willesley Pound?
Please someone put us out of our misery.....!!
