Wow,don't memories flood back with a little prompting!
I too remember Miss Beaney and the fleet of cars that filled the town for her funeral.
Who could forget John Pittock and Mr Pope who not only taught me but my father too. Then there was Mrs Relf who had us all knitting dish cloths at 6 years old!
Am I right in thinking there was a family ----mostly blind I think ---possibly called Fever who did wonderful cane work and regularly repaired my Grannies'rocking chair?
