Hi Ivor,
Good to hear from you. Its amazing how many charactors have gone but not replaced. It seems to point to occupation. Another person that I remember is Mr Norris, (lived just down from us) and was employed by the council to cut the grass on roadside verges using a hook and sythe, year after year, mile after mile. These individuals where part of the community, people who were always there getting on with making a living, constant and memorable.
