
Posted by Alan Pinnegar Instead of attacking the whole project, those who don't want to see the removal of the pews would be much better off working constructively from the inside, supporting those things which clearly need doing anyway. The question of the pews can be dealt with when it comes to decision time. It's not an "all or nothing" exercise!

The whole re-ordering debate seems to have centred around the issue as to whether the pews should be replaced or not. Seating is only part of the outline proposal - there are other priorities, such as one entrance for everyone and toilet facilities in church to help the disabled, the elderly and the very young: these are essential if we're to have a growing church accessible to all. Proper storage provision is also becoming increasingly necessary.
