I knew Sam until he passed away. He was a wise old many and didn't suffer fools gladly.I used to take holly to Sam's sister Maria so that she could decorate the house for Christmas. Maria used to lay the bodies out and Sam was the grave digger.Sam's spade is now in Cranbrook museum.Maria was also the Verger at St.Dunstan's Church.There are several pictures of the Dann family in the local history books.
