Posted by Kim on January 12, 2006, 12:03 am, in reply to "moyettes" I used to live in Key West from 1978 to 1983. I used to get crab moyettes from Jon's Sundries. They were so good. I do have the recipe for your husbands favorite moyettes. Please let me know how it turns out. Ask him if he ever went to the Full Moon Saloon and had their Delicious and Famous Grouper Sandwich. It was and still is the best Grouper sandwich I have ever had. I also have the recipe for this if you two want it. Thanks for bring back some fine memories with your request. Happy New Years to you and your loved ones. Kim 1 loaf of cuban bread Cut off one end of the bread and set aside. Pull out the enter, leaving a border of about 1 inch. Fill the inside with picadillo and replace the cut off end of the bread to seal in the filling; hold together with wooden toothpicks. Mix the egg and water and dip the bread in the wash. Roll in cracker meal. Heat the oil to 350 degrees and fry the bread until golden brown. Slice in 2-inch pieces and serve for snacks. Makes about 15 pieces Heat the oil in a skillet and add the onion. Saute until the onion is golden, about 15 minutes. Add the garlic and green peper and saute gently 5 minutes. Add the beef, breaking it up into small pieces as it browns. Add the tomato sauce and mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until the meat is cooked through and flavors blended, about 15 minutes. Taste for seasoning, adding more vinegar and Worcestershire sauce if necessary. Makes 8 servings.
