Job Title: McGrath Museum Archivist
Location: McGrath Museum
Supervisor: Under the joint supervision of the Tribal Administrator and the Tochak Historical Society Board of Directors
Pay Range: $22/hour
Job Summary: Two (2) part-time individuals (2 hours per day each) will be hired to serve as Archivists for the McGrath Museum. Under the supervision of the Tochak Historical Society and the MNVC Tribal Administrator, the McGrath Museum Archivists will organize, properly index and store local collections of photographs, film, and historic documents, including local newspapers, business documents, brochures, etc.
Essential Functions: The Archivists must be able to do the following:
Work within a budget
Organize, research and accurately synthesize information in an efficient and timely way
Utilize Past Perfect software
Prioritize work and meet deadlines
Properly work with and care for fragile documents
Work with the general public
Collaborate with others
Ability to multi-task: the archivists will be based in the McGrath Museum, will oversee the museum during their working hours and be available to work with the public as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of and demonstrated interest in the history of the Upper Kuskokwim Valley.
Experience working with archival documents
Advanced computer technology skills.
Knowledge of Past Perfect museum collection management program.
Experience volunteering or working for a museum, historical organization or other related experience.
Demonstrated writing skills.
Ability to complete projects in a timely way.
Other Responsibilities: Other job related duties as assigned
Summation: Must be flexible to adapt to evolving job duties. Incumbent must be able to work under minimal supervision.
