Races starting at 5:30 begins Oct. 3rd

Hopefully the temperature will be easing up for us in the latter part of the season, CCS is moving the
start time back to 5:30 on October 3rd through the end of the year. Not all racers and spectators
monitor this web site so please pass this around so noone will be caught not knowing. Thanks for
helping.
I know the question is coming so here is the answer. No we are not adding in make up races for the rain
out 2 weeks ago. It was called a wash out and won't be made up. We appreciate all our people, both
front gate and back, and hope we are doing our best to make CCS your favorite speedway. As always
contact me by PM or by phone (352-400-3425) if you need anything.

Rules from thursday's meeting
Posted by Bob Coffey on August 14, 2009, 12:36 am

Thursday's meeting at CCS had a decent turnout. Our owner, gm and tech man were there and answered any
and all questions the 50-75 people that turned up had to offer. Many things were addressed and here are
some of the rulings set forth.
EFFECTIVE TODAY 08-13-09
1. THE SPIN RULE
Nobody is happy with the way the speedway makes "the calls" when a car spins during a race. There are
no more spotters. The track will no longer determine who is to blame for a spin. If your car spins
during an event and brings out a caution flag, you will go to the rear of the field. It does not matter
how or why you spun. If more than one car spins then all go to the back. If you stop on the track
because the racing surface is blocked by an accident and you don't make contact then you will get your
spot back. If you make contact and stop then you are "involved" and you go to the rear. We no longer
use spotters or make calls so only the stopped and involved cars go to the rear. Bumping, pushing,
rubbing and grinding are all part of short track racing. Car control is what racing is about, whether
you are leading, following or side by side another car. This is not an open season for rough driving
sign. The flagman, at his sole discretion, will black flag drivers for rough driving. A bumping
incident does not constitute rough driving so don't complain to the flagman or the track staff that
someone hit you and he should have been black flagged. Rough driving requires multiple incidents in a
race. The flagman will clarify what it will be and it is " his discretion".
2. PROFANE LANGUAGE
Anyone using profanity or "cussing out" an employee of the race track will be removed from the
property. Likewise, if any employee "cusses out" someone at the speedway, they should be reported
immediately to the gm for disciplinary action. All employees at the race track will be treated with
respect and they will treat everyone there with respect also.
Many topics were discussed today. Don went over rules and race procedures. Travis went toe-to-toe about
tech. When you have more than 1 person in a group, not everyone is going to be satisfied all the time.
The speedway and staff are open to suggestions on how to make it a better program. Don't just scream
that something is wrong, tell us how it should be changed to make it better. Don't just show us the
problem, show us the solution.
CCS is 50+ years old. Many people here are 2-3 generations deep at our speedway. You've grown up here
and have family here or think of each other as family. Families fight, families make up then they have
fun together.
Go have fun together.
