One of the reasons I liked (and still like) D&DC is that it was a lot more mature than most of the other cartoons of the time. I think it's stood the test of time well (at leats the storylines have, some of the animation is a little iffy in places). And there's lots of scope for dark fanfiction I don't think I've heard of a discussion about V's mother - but Tann did mention Zandora as a (very) fiant possibility at one point. Didn't he?
