Posted by Xenutia I've heard that was one possible definition too, but I also heard it was taken from the word used for horses when they retire. You know, they're old, they're tired, they send 'em to the knackers yard. Poor horses. But who knows? And Cockney Rhyming Slang is *too much* fun.
