Question: why don't you never show the dogs being shocked? Fred Hassen: That's pretty funny. We don't drop that out, it is going on while you are watching the video. I mean do you really think that the dog's behavior is changing during the video because of osmosis or something. :-) Likewise, if you also think that just putting a collar on a dog is going to allow you to train like we do, then put one on a dog, and put some videos up. We'd like to see what they look like. :-) Question: How many dogs have you burned before getting to the level that you are? Fred Hassen: My business took off from the very first day that I had it with a couple of magnets on a van. I was doing everything, including demos in the middle of people's streets back then, and have just changed it to video in the last couple of years so that more people can see it. All these videos are still out in public if you watch them. The video that I just took was at our Denver school, and that is located in a Vets office. If what you are imagining was happening, we wouldn't be the biggest dog training business in the history of the United States. That's just common sense. Your not going to get very far by not being able to do things in public that's for sure. We've done seminars at humane society's, veterinarian schools, and just about anywhere you can imagine. There are even videos on our site with 10 year old kids feeling the collar all the way up. Question: I would'nt want to walk around all the time with a remote in my hand. Fred Hassen: To each his own, I don't like walking around with a leash in my hand. That's why they have ecollars, and leashes, and choke chains, and halti's..........different strokes for different folks! I'm sure you are happy with where you are at, and I'm certainly not going to try and change you. Besides, lots of people years ago, used to be content with going home and making their phone calls being confined to a 6 foot cord on the phone. Now they have cell phones. There certainly are still people that don't want to carry around a cell phone, cause it's a hassle for them and continue waiting til they get home to make a call. I am not going to try and change them either. Question: Your stuff is very good I must say, but how dependable is it without a collar Fred Hassen: Well, we've gotten perfect scores in competitions http://www.sitmeanssit.com/lianne-hassen-achieves-perfect-score-at-rally-competition/ where you can't wear any devices or aids, and have done pretty well in a lot of other things where you can't have collars on your dogs by our location owners. 2006 Ringsport National Champion, 2007 Ringsport National Champion, All-Time NAPD high score obedience record holder, NAPD open division National Champion, 3rd Place Obedience National Championships NAPD, 2007 U.S.P.C.A. Many titles in AKC Agility competitions, AKC obedience competitions, Dock Diving a long with many, many appearances on Television, media and newspapers. Of course that is just a partial list, and you can't use collars in any of these things. http://www.sitmeanssit.com/will-my-dog-listen-without-the-collar-on/ This video/article explains a lot. One question for you..........I'm always open to new and exciting ideas, and whenever someone complains about something in our organization, I always ask them to accompany it with a solution. My question to you would be what would you suggest as an alternative that would be getting better results across the board then what we are presently doing. If it's out there, I'm not aware of it. :-)
