horse products are pretty safe, just dilute them more. other than that, there's the old standby of skin so soft.
i've also been trying out a local all-natural spray, whose active ingredients are lavendar and cedarwood(does not cause cedar fever attacks).
it is alcohol based, but i haven't noticed any adverse affects to the coats of my rott or shepherd/basenji type. Good results so far, without chemicals. It's listed as flea repellent, but we spend a lot of time on the greenbelt and country land -- with good results against ticks and mosquitos as well. the website is: www.tamarinda.com.
