They are loose together b/c they've lived together for a year and have not had a problem until recently. They used to play together and sometimes get a little rough but they always settled it quickly. And we have never just let them fight it out. We always break it up but we realize that is dangerous now that they are aggresively attacking each other. We are keeping Dex in a crate now so they can't kill each other when we're not home during the day. And at night we'll just have to let them in the house one at a time. We're just so used to all our dogs being part of the family that this is strange for us. Obviously it's necessary and best for everyone so we will do what we need to do. Thanks for you advice.
