Hi everyone. We adopted a Catahoula mix (Dexter) a year ago and we already had two large dogs. Brody is our oldest and very submissive so we've had no issues with him and Dex. But Fletcher, our six year old English Shepard mix is very dominant and so he and Dex have had issues with rough playing. Over the past month the playing has turned into total battles and it takes both my husband and I to rip them apart - getting bit up ourselves in the process. It's now happening multiple times a day just by them looking at each other. And Fletch is 'marking his territory' in the house which I'm sure is part of their fight for dominance. We contacted a private trainer we worked with when Dex was about six months and she feels that there is no hope of Dex and Fletch living in peace together. I can't imagine we'll be able to find him a new home b/c he has some issues (just plain naughty with stealing/eating socks, afraid of strangers, a nightmare at the vet, very mouthy, ect.) so we're at our wits end trying to figure out how we can keep him. We love him to death and I've been crying for days over this ---any suggestions on what we should do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. ~Amber
