My mom had quite a few tests today including a scope so I was ordered to go have some fun. Elizabeth and Kim M. were kind enough to provide it in spades. I had a great afternoon with Elizabeth, shopping and having a wonderful lunch on the waterfront. Granville Island was great with loads of toy stores and all sorts of trinket shops. I even found (and bought) popcorn for dogs. 
It was so nice to meet Elizabeth in person finally!
When I got back to the hostel, Kim and her hubby came downtown and took me out for a wonderful greek dinner. It was so nice to meet up with them again...last time we met Ben was 9 weeks old!
Both Elizabeth and Kim have kindly offered to give my mom their phone numbers so she can call if she needs anything while she's here. Thanks ladies, it makes me feel better knowing she has help and a friendly face if she needs it. I leave tomorrow afternoon for home....the doctors think my mom will stay for at least 10 days or until they figure out what's ailing her.
I certainly had a stress free day and a lot of laughs and good times. Now tomorrow I need to find a bag so I can bring home all my extra goodies.
*Note to self..refrain from buying hardcover books when you have to walk 10 blocks to the train!
