Hi all. I'm still in Vancouver. My mom had a bit of a rough day yesterday with her BP up etc but she's doing better today. Her jr. doctor came by this morning and it's her first case ever so she's been doing a ton of research. She said that most times when they present a case to their team it's a possibility of a couple of different things. With my mom she has a list. One of the possibilities is Addison's Disease which is an adrenal thing and completely treatable. At least here they are very eager to get to the bottom of things.
They have said they are having trouble trying to talk to her doctors back home and get the results and imagings they did there. She asked my mom which nephrologist diagnosed the renal atery stenosis and was appalled when my mom said she's never seen one. They are also getting a GI team to look at her too. They certainly seem organized and capable of helping, which is great. My mom also asked if when they had a free moment could someone please tell her what the tests have ruled out and they couldn't believe her doctors have never told her.
I've been back and forth over the last couple days but she keeps insisting I go out and treat myself a bit and do some shopping. To that end I have plans tomorrow to meet up with Elizabeth from the board and she's going to take me to one of the shopping districts and we'll get some lunch. Tomorrow evening Kim M. (from CRI) and I are going to meet up for coffee. Again I'm so thankful for this board and all the wonderful people I've met and the hospitality and help they've offered to an out of towner.
Thanks also to the rest of you that have been sending your love and support. You've all been great. I'll check in again when I'm able.
