There's got to be a few that he considers annoying either because the song sucks or it's been too heavily overplayed through the years.

Personally, I find "Black is Black" by Los Bravos to be annoying to the point that I change the station when it comes on. I can't stand the singer's style.

"Shout" by the Isley Brothers is annoying to me because it is overplayed on just about every oldies station.

"Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison and "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations two that are guaranteed switch-offs for me. Two of the most absolutely, positively, overplayed songs in Rock 'n Roll history! Every time I hear one of them, I just imagine the 25-year old consultants nodding their pinheads while testing them.

Personally, I never cared that much for the former, the latter used to sound pretty good....before it was burned to a crisp by every oldies station in the country.

As for Dick Biondi, the man is still very talented and represents the type of on-air presence that USED TO BE typical on Top 40 radio back in the day. Now, he's one of the last of that rare breed. When he's on, I just sit back and enjoy the show!

Christmas vacation 1962 my friend and I went to the WLS viewing room at 360 N Michigan. They were taking small groups of 4-5 back to the jocks lounge to meet Dick Biondi and get an autographed picture. We were in the last group and Dick talked to us for over 20 minutes. It was the coolest thing in the world for us 13 and 14 year olds to hang with the guy we listened to every night! When it was time for the autographs I pointed to the comb on Biondi's desk and asked if I could have it instead of the picture. "I don't know why you want it," he chuckled, "but here it is. And besides, I think I am starting to lose my hair anyway!" Some 46 years later, Dick still has his hair - and I have a cherished memory.

A couple weeks back Danny Lake mentioned a year & half with his Saturday night party show on WLS and Greg Brown just mentioned 3 yrs in afternoons a couple weeks back.
