98.248.53.53Surprised me that the AMA approved it. I don't normally have a problem with AARP to any degree. Years ago one of the administration proposed a long term care bill where you would pay a surcharge on you income taxes. It was very small charge and AARP managed to get it voted down. 72.173.192.59If anyone is interested in the AMA endorsement of the health care bill, Google something like "AMA endorsement revolt" & see what comes up. It appears that the association's board of trustees failed to obtain delegate approval before endorsing the reform proposals. The AMA's delegate assembly is considered the group's primary policy-making body and they are trying to to resend the endorsement Monday. Of course this will probably come after the House debate is over on (probably) Sunday. Talk about playing both ends against the middle!!! - Re: Health Care Bill

75.66.92.24Do you have the article or fact sheet to back this figure up - my Doctor belongs and said too many people with pre-existing conditions have no insurance available to them - at an affordable price - visits to emergency rooms for preventable problems cost all of us. 98.77.252.46Here in Fort Lauderdale, most of the uninsured that use the ER,go to one of the county hospitals. If you own real estate, it shows up as a tax for the local Hospital District on your RE Tax Bill.

Here in Dallas the county adds a tax to the homeowners to cover the indigent care. Most of it goes to Parkland Hosp. The same one they took JFK to on that sad day. They have the best emergency services in the area and I don't mind paying that tax at all. It's the last resort for many people. Illegal aliens need health care too. - Re: Health Care Bill
