Martha, I have had two friends moved from a hospital into what would be described to them as "Rehabilitation facility", only to discover they were in nursing homes, period. Both got themselves out on their own, but one had a multiple set of problems and really needed Physical therapy and help to get on her feet walking. Having been to their idea of Rehab, my friend refused any other such rehab again....it did not make her future better. There is sadly, a misunderstanding among patients about having some Rehab and Doctors allowing and encouraging other facilities. It is absurd to take a patient who's been bedridden for weeks and send them home within 24hrs of awakening, without actual physical therapy. I know, as I've been there and was shoved from the wheelchair into our vehicle with none. I understand what you are saying with your remarks also. And I am very sorry for the illness and subsequent loss of your Mother. It is never easy even when you expect it,Prayers.
