The $1000 that Luke spoke of is per "benefit period', and that period is sixty days long. When you are discharged from the hospital begin to count off the days. Should you again be hospitalized before 60 days have passed, then there is no first day $1000 deductible for the second visit. The booklet, "Medicare and You 2010" has already been mailed out. If you have not received a copy, call up and request one.
