Might be going in for a hip replacement. Have stated in my DNR forms and Illinois living will that i do not want invasive intubation. Talked to my pulmo yesterday and he said that there is a chance that i might need intubation because of the Anesthesia and my lung condition but it would be only a few days but i should be OK. I have read where they have to wean you off and some do not make it and live for perhaps a year at the most on mechanical intubation. I don't want to live that way. Has anyone filled this directive out? Under what conditions do you want to call it quits? There must come a time when it's not worth the struggle?
