Charles, I would run (if you get my metaphor) to see another doctor. You should have a specific reason for the weight loss before any type of treatment is started. What she told you absolutely makes no sense. AND surgery is not the only treatment for prostate cancer. Please see another doctor for a thorough evaluation. Let us know how things are going with you.
