I know I'm off the rails on this...one of many reckless things I do. The doctor didn't say anything about minerals, just bacteria. My water is very hard, too. I will tell you what will hurt - use plain water w/o the salt/soda or use hot or cold water. Any one of those will hurt. A lot.
