Maybe I phrased that incorrectly. He DOES want me to get a new one - but I have the option of keeping the one I have. And the reason for getting a new one is so that Medicare would continue paying if they own it and not me - but if it is more than five years old I would definitely have to pay for any service to it. Medicare would not.
