I've taken it for 9 years with no problem. It seems to me those of us with osteop. would have more problems with COPD without Fosamax, etc., particularly if we develop the 'dowagers hump' from compression fractures and become stooped over.
I have a COPD friend who coughed so hard she fractured several ribs, at which time they discovered she had osteoporosis.
