Has anyone been diagnosed with cor pulmonale and/or secondary pulmonary hypertension by any method or test
other than an echo cardiogram? The site below (and many others) list many other tests, including a VQ. If most of the literature I've read on this is correct I should be dead by now. Actually I feel pretty good.
My one echo reading of 50 was taken in the hospital where I'd been admitted with an FEV1 of about 16% (it's about 30 now) so I wonder how accurate it is. Whatever--the dreaded words cor pulmonale are on all my records.
One published report online said the 6 to 12 month survival rate was only 30-35%.
