I posted over a week ago about my Mom and many of you responded with great advice. She is still in the hospital and has been diagnosed with right and left sided heart failure and mild to moderate pulmonary hypertension. Her legs are still weeping and now her abdomen is so large and full of fluid. She has had episodes of atrial fib, something I am told is not uncommon with heart failure. They are concerned about some problems with her liver and her kidney tests were not that great.
I am going to spend most of the day with her at the hospital as today is the third anniversary of my Dad's death. Needless to say, she is very emotional lately and worried about her condition. I am just so concerned as all I hear from the doctors is they are trying to get the fluid off. They said if they have to use dialysis as a last resort, that would be detrimental to her heart. I think they are saying this heart failure is affecting her other organs as well and making things all that more difficult.
I guess I am just a bit upset as she has a pace maker and has been on medication (solitol sp??) to control the atril fib. Thanks for listening and I will keep you updated.
Linda
