That's happened to me on occasion, too, Martha. I have no idea why, and of course neither does Apria. Here's a trick I discovered, though: turn the dial all the way to the CF setting, then back it up to "5" and it should work again on pulse. It's been a feature of all three Spirits I've gone through in the past few years.
