I took metoprolol. It's a beta blocker like Toprol For many years after a cardiac infraction. Loved the stuff, it stabilized my HR and BP which had long been a problem with me. When my COPD turned really nasty the Doc took me off it sez it is contraindicated for COPD. It's taken 2 years of experimenting to find something that works as well for me. It's some good stuff stabilizes yout HR and BP without side effects. Hope everything comes out OK with your surgery.
