Hi Everybody....I have severe Emphysema...
my lung volume is 36%...I had a very different experience with an excesperation..
A couple of weeks ago...on a Sunday...to be more percise...I had a dry cough, coupled with the start of a sore throat...I thought..oh..no...not another flu bug!! as it normally takes me with the help of predisone and Avelox....approximately 10 weeks to feel good again...this time it lasted only 3 days!! no cough...never got one...etc......I wasn't absolutely
sure I had the flu...so I went to my Health Club...Monday morning....after my work-out..
I used the "massage chair" deep body massage for about 20 minutes...targetting my lungs...after that...I went home as I felt I am really getting the flu....around
9pm that evening my throat was really sore...so I took an Avelox...the next morning I felt terrible..(I'm sure you can all relate)....I took Avelox again plus
4 pills of Predisone....by thursday of the same week...I saw my GP and she checked my lungs and said...no fliud...your lungs are clear...I didn't go to Pulmonary rehab on the Friday...as I just couldn't beleve that I was cured...!!...I felt great!! no cold
sore throat..or cough....by the way...I go to a health club plus Pulmonary Rehab...the health club...is for evrybody...no 02 is allowed.. I personally think...because I used the "massage chair"
for 20 minutes on my lungs...that somehow I stopped the bacteria from spreading?
What do you think...? I realize that the treatment for CF is massage therapy...hey...
you never know....I would be very interested in hearing whether anyone else has experienced this....regards, Guest
