Hi C.J. You said you previously were using a Spirit 300 for your portable needs. The Spirit 300 is a pulse unit. The Inogen is also a pulse unit. Don't quite understand why this will be different for you to use when you are out and about. I used the Inogen before and loved it for my portable use. There are several advantages to the Inogen in as much as you can have oxygen easily available to you while out and about. If you are visitng some one at their home, you will be able to plug in at their home and recharge the battery in the Inogen at the same time. When you are traveling in the auto, you can plug into the cigarette lighter and recharge your Inogen as your drive down the highway. If you go to a restaurant and ask to be seated near an electrical plug you can recharge your Inogen while you are dining. Please give it a chance. You might find it works really well for you. I would much prefer the Inogen than my little Spirit 300 as I can stay out as long as I want. With the Spirit 300, I am only good for about 2 to 2-1/2 hours on 3 LPM which barely keeps me at 90% saturation. With the INogen on 4 LPM I can be at 92% and be about as long as I want.
Best wishes,
Mary Ellen/CA
