Our local hospital hands out "beepers" while you wait to be called for an appointment, test, etc. They are not wiped off or sterilized at the end of each day, let alone in between patients! I have mentioned many, many times that this practice is one of the worst offenders to infection control, but nothing has been done about it. Guess I'll have to report it to the next step up on the ladder. I sure can't understand why this practice is even permitted.
I carry sanitary wipes in my handbag and/or have hand sanitizer with me.
