I didn't get a pet after my son's last on passed when he left home for USAF. Thought I'd travel etc. Got the COPD news and Son & Daughter said to get married agin or get a pet. He's a 9 lb Shi/tzu named Gen George Patton and I KNOW it was the right decision. LOL
