In view of the fact that I have a long haired house cat, I asked my pulmo a couple of years ago if I should be checked for allergies to cats. He replied with a simple question, "And if you are, then what?" I got his drift: it wouldn't make any difference what the allergy testing showed - the cat was here to stay. Period.
