I have no idea, Muffin. I'd also bet machines vary, too. I use my oximeter and go from a concentrator to Pulse dose, and check before and after putting on, just to be sure too, I haven't crimped tubing, lost connection, setting moved....It's more important to me to ensure I am breathing comfortably than to stay at a given setting.
Frankly, I think it can work as a warning device (oximeter) to ensure I am exhaling well, as well as getting sufficient O2.
An oximeter isn't a fixed or extremely accurate instrument (especially all the way out on a finger) but if I leave it on the finger while walking, averaging the green readings gives me a good guide.
I figure if my finger reading is happy, my heart and lungs may be too.
If you are trying to lower use, of oxygen, it will happen on it's own over time, especially as muscles become efficient.
How are you doing since the LVRS?
