Wow, I have had to change my cannula before I even finished out a week because the prongs got so stiff and painful. I think it may have been a chemical reaction with the CannEase lubricant & my body & the cannula or something. The lubricant was specially designed for cannulas, so I'm not sure why it got so hard to quickly--literally just days!
For a savings, I just trimmed the prongs & used it a bit more, but Lincare was very surprised when I told them about it, as was my pulmo & med team.
