Hi! Sorry your heart is racing from the meds. Spiriva & albuterol & Serevent & Foradil all can have that effect. For some folks, inhaled steroids CAN also have that effect to some degree but most of us are concerned about the acknowledged risk of bone loss which is related to the dose & duration of inhaled steroid use.
The two meds that help with breathing that are supposed to be easier on the heart are Xopenex (either the inhaled HFA "puffer" or the nebulized form--medium .63% strength) and the nebulized Brovana. Those are the only meds which are advertised and tested to help with the cardiac side effects.
Unfortunately, we're all different and tho they help some/many with reduced side effects, you have to keep an eye on YOUR symptoms and figure out whether it is reducing or increasing any symptoms you're having (breathing, heart, or other).
