I am so delighted you are going to be getting these good tests, which may well show some of the basis for problems you've been having.
Advair 500/50 is a lot of corticosteroid (500mg) and 50mg of Serevent. If you have a lot of asthma or bronchitis, it should help, but there has always been discussion of whether it helps beyong a certain point.
I, personally weaned down on corticosteroid. The part of Advair which is a bronchodilator is the Serevent which is 50mg.
Starion made the suggestion of Brovana, which could, when you get all these tests out of the way, perhaps actually help,by being easier on the heart than Advair (Serevent).
I suspect the tests are the really important thing right now, and changing meds when you are under stress is really hard to do- at least it would be for me...I'd be wondering if it were me or the med??!!
That you are struggling with basic bronchodilators such as Combivent, albuterol leaves me wondering if you've had any luck with Ipratropium. It doesn't act as quickly as Combivent would, but it could be a companion to a lower dose of Advair.
We'll keep you in our prayers while you are having these tests. Perhaps any time you are to spend some time hospitalised with any problems might be a good chance to let a Doc prescribe some Brovano and see if it helps.
As we get older, and loose weight and activities, it always helps to review medications, especially when you bring them all together, including supplements, pain killers, to one Physician to see just what all is in your entire chemical stew. Often a light bulb goes on when they see it all together and realise what a soup they have concocted.
