Link: Medicare Audits

We know of one with COPD who got shuffled off to essentially a nursing home but tried to bill it as a Rehab.
Apparently Medicare has started to audit, or review medical records and billing to see where overcharging has occurred.
This may cause some facilities/Doc offices to need to reorganise and update their records. It should not alarm anyone, and it may save a bundle for Medicare.
I suggest that if you get called regarding your records, or reccollections, just be honest and understand these are not Physicians but auditors trying to catch dates and diagnosis for review by Docs.
