I think part of this problem is because any person who has any type of critical illness like not being able to do or go as fast as those with them is under some sort of "basic threat" to keep up with what is going one and in my view, what is going on your mind is reaching a goal like walking out the door to go and your mind is on your room mate standing there looking like "God will she ever get done". The I sometimes get the loud, "are you hungry YET?". We talked about this and I truly think the drugs short circuit the processing and in my case it takes me several minutes to react even. I get this same thing with phone calls and people are so down right insulting, hateful and rude even when they are your loved ones.
I sound like I am griping but I feel blessed to have some truly wonderful family members and others are dealing with their own frustrations and there are too many changes going on too fast.
Last night we went to a different restuarant in a chain and it was in Rockwall Texas to meet my daughter-in-law from Lubbock and my granddaughter who had the two surgeries and who was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma and the restuarant was a much slower paced, higher quality than the one we have in a nearby town. Everything went slow enough for me to comprehend easily and I could understand everything my daughter-in-law said although I have problems with understanding both my husband and granddaughter who talk very fast and process very rapidly.
BTW the 19 lymph nodes cam back negatieve and my granddaughter is going to get a year's
Iterferon course and has been appoved to receive SSI, and her chemo is going to be paid in full. Her mom is insisting she get back in a car and drive.
I am truly blessed
