It could have been Benedryl in the shot also or possibly Prednisone as that will counteract an allergic reaction to something. My friend that just passed also could not take the iodine dye for CT scans until they started giving her Pred a couple days before. I don't know if it would be the wise thing with something like a flu shot though. I know you are not supposed to be on Pred for some immunizations.
